Refer to research undertaken on my blog about portfolios / interview prep.

·         What did I learn from my research that I tried to apply to my interview in terms of my portfolios construction and my preparation for interview? How well did I manage to apply this? What improvements could be made for next time?

·         Body language/non-verbal communication: how do I conduct myself in the interview? What is my posture like? Do I smile enough? Am  I fidgeting? Do I make eye contact with the interviewers? Do I take charge of my portfolio and lay things out/gesture in helpful ways to communicate? What are my strengths? What could I improve/avoid doing next time?

·         Questions: How well did I answer questions? Did I use correct terminology? Do I repeat words or phrases? Did I give good examples? If I had my time again what would I adapt, change or add to my answers?

·       What kinds of things did the interviewers ask about my work? How well was I able to discuss my work and progress?

·         How well did I communicate my passion / suitability for the course or position? What could be improved here? How can I sell myself more, what is my USP (unique selling point)?

·         Feedback: What feedback did I receive from my interviewers?

·         What alterations should I make (if any) to my portfolio?

·         What will I do to ensure that I am even better next time?

Twentieth Post: Mock Interview Questions

Post your draft answers to the following questions:

·        Tell us about yourself

·        Why do you want to do this course?

·        Why do you want to study here?

·         Why did you choose the course you did in college?

·         What do you feel you have learned about yourself in the last two years?

·         At what point did you realise [chosen subject] was the direction for you?

·         Why is your subject important to you?

·         What are the most important current developments in your subject? Where do you read about this?

·         What is the most important/relevant/influential/recent article you have read on [your subject]?

·        Tell me about the artists/designers that inspire you?

·         What kind of themes do you pursue/like to investigate in your work? Why are you interested in them?

·        What are your most successful pieces of work? Why?

·        What exhibitions have you visited recently?

·         What are the strengths of your work and where would you like to improve?

·         What do you think you could contribute to the culture of the course?

·         Are there any projects in particular that have been important to you, if so why?

·         If we asked your friends or colleagues what are your good and bad points, what do you think they would say?

·         Are you good at working on your own?

·         Tell me about an achievement/piece of work you are proud of.

·         If there is a piece of work in your portfolio that you could change, what would it be and why?

·         What do you think university can offer you?

·        Have you any ambitions of what you want to do in the future?

·         Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

·         Why should we offer you a place/position?

Nineteenth post: article analysis

 Find two articles/sources about University/creative interview process and questions to read and compare.

 Identify key information (additional) that you have learned from reading the articles and use quotes to support, what are common questions?

Eighteenth Post: Interview Preparation

 What advice did you take away from the three videos and how will you adapt your approach as a result?

 What do you need to be conscious of in terms of boy language/non-verbal communication in an interview scenario?

 How should I present myself/what else will I be careful to consider?

 Uni: summarise the key information regarding each course/Uni you are applying for (course content/modules, specialist equipment/opportunities/placements/trips, inspiring graduates, learned from open days etc.)
